World Heritage Site Galapagos – Flamingo

One of my favorite World Heritage Sites, the Galapagos, just thrilled me with photograhic opportunities. I love the colors and tranquility that this shot offers. It brings me instantly back to the beach, just sitting, just watching, just living my life to the fullest!

One of my favorite trips of all time was taking the small boat cruise throught the Galapagos Islands. We were super excited when we spotted our first marine iguanas, pretty much a symbol of the whole experience. We couldn’t believe how they climbed all over one another. The best was seeing them swim, or doggie-um-iguana paddle their way across the water.

Tuesday is Nature Day – Red-footed Booby

Hiking through the islands of the Galapagos, there are plenty of boobies. The blue-footed booby is the most famous, but I think the red-footed booby, shown here, is just as gorgeous. Who wouldn’t want a shiny pair of red shoes like this gal?

There are three different types of booby in the Galapagos, and they are all easily observed and photographed. This is a red-footed booby, and the colors on her are just gorgeous. I love the blue and pink of her beak.

The Scenic Atlantic

These rocks are stuck out in the middle Atlantic not far from the Galapagos Islands.  I love the reflection they leave, and we even row-boated between them.  I loved it.

Boobies and seals, iguanas and manta rays, oh my!  Our family trip to the Galapagos ranks up there as one of the best trips I’ve ever taken. 

We flew into Guayaquil, Ecuador only to spend one night then head onto Baltra airport.  Upon arrival, the entry point was well set up.  We snaked our way along a wooden line in order to pay our $100 per person park entry fee as well as go through customs.  There we were met by our Ecuadorian guide, who immediately took us to our boat.
